For a better experience watch with headphones.
You can also experience some of my models in AR. They are very basic but it is fun to see 3D element in real environment.
To do that, you need Adobe Aero app and just scan QR code next to images.

Crystal-typographic interpretations is a collection of short animations and graphics.
The main theme was my fascination about minerals and precious stones. From the review of over two hundred minerals in various sources (internet, magazines or during exhibitions), I have chosen six rocks that intrigued me. The choice was difficult because each of them is attractive in their own way with color, shape or structure. Minerals are natural products of the Earth, not humans, which makes them extremely unique and often very useful in our daily lives. They are used for example in technology, automotive and jewelry industries.
"You see, the stone could only get into the hands of someone who wanted to find it - find it, not use it, or else he would see in the mirror not the stone, but himself making gold or drinking Elixir of Life."
J.K. Rowling "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone"

I referred to the philosopher's stone, which plays an important role not only in the Harry Potter book. The philosopher's stone was an undefined substance wanted by alchemists that turned base metals into noble ones. I feel like in this situation I am an alchemist and created unique animated artifacts that are my philosopher's stones.
I have created six animations. I designed a coherent composition and environment for each of them. Overflowing my personal emotions and ideas, I created six different climates. Geology, gems and minerals were fascinated me since I was a child.
It is amazing that such wonderful resources can be found on our planet. The structure and appearance of some stones can hypnotize me with their beauty and attention in detail.

When it comes to the mystical effects of minerals, I am not entirely convinced of it, although I would like to believe it. Since the dawn of time, people have used minerals for health purposes, for example they believed that gems have hidden energy that can affect the body and mind. It was believed that gems such as a ruby is deeply connected with the human circulatory system and can purify the blood. Sapphire was credited with easing eye problems. Was it actually a power or a placebo effect? To this day, it is not known. In the case of this series, I decided to move away from designing a typical reality, rise higher on the cloud of imagination and be inspired by this hidden magic in the rocks, showing it in my own way. Out of the various methods in which I was able to make the project, I decided to use 3D graphics and 3D animation. I think that this is an area that will be dynamically developing in the coming years, so it is worth getting to know it better.

Typography has become the most important element of my animation project. I wanted to find the most suitable typeface for each of them, the character and structure of which would somehow correspond to the overall atmosphere of the project. From the detailed selection of free typography, I found six that fit into the composition in an interesting way. Each of them has a specific character that evokes specific emotions. For example, in one of the animations I found a font that looks like rocks. I composed typography with a mysterious liquid and sapphire, which created a unique atmosphere.
I had to make a big correction to the letters for the effects and their impact. I played with deconstructing the letters, giving them deformed and amorphous shapes, changing them, stretching them and twisting. I also used 3D animation effects like force field, cloth animation or particle system.

The animations themselves were mainly created in Blender. During work on diploma used many various and helpful tutorial videos regarding the specific effects that I wanted to achieve. During the creation process, I made an interesting experiments, cases that did not end up in the final project, and thanks to which I learned a lot. It was the base for finished animations. I arranged the entire project according to a color scheme, choosing minerals of a specific color. I know there is a rule that minerals in general should not be color coded as many of them come in different shades of the same color. However, this is how I decided to come up with a design anchor point.

I really enjoyed when I changed the position and tilt of the camera for the already created compositions in order to obtain unconventional frames. I felt like a photographer in the space of the world that I generated myself. My animations are quite short due to the long computer rendering time. Some of them required additional procedures, such as bake a data. Usually, the end result is worth waiting.
In the animations I used the sounds from a paid account from Artlist.io and Mixxit.co, where you can find a whole library of music and sounds for commercial projects.

To complete my animations, I printed six posters in the 16:9 format, or more precisely 50x89cm. Each is accompanied by the mood board mock-up presenting the description of the idea and still frames taken from the animation. In addition, I looped a dozen gifs into one movie to use somehow animations that "did not come out", I used such a "disposal process", because it would be a pity to completely "waste" these works. I am currently in the process of constantly developing my 3D skills. I think that I have learned a lot so far and my knowledge in the field of graphic design has increased during my studies, but my diploma project has also become a good challenge for me.
